About Me
I should start by explaining that right from the time I was a young person I had ambitions to be a psychologist. Unfortunately, my family had no resources…, and as such I started my professional life not as a counselor, but as fate will guide me.., as a tutor and educator.

However, my professional interests led me to work with higher education students as a career adviser. And as a consequence, I inevitably became interested in the art of counselling.
As time progressed, I realized that my focus had rekindled on psychology. This shift led me to undertake academic training in psychology and counselling in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands as a Behavioral, Experiential, and Psychodynamic therapist. With further training and supervision, I then moved into using an Integrative Counseling approach with specialization in multicultural counselling (substance abuse disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, racial and cultural trauma, and identity).
With my experiences as a counselling psychologist I am convinced that the most significant attribute needed in counseling is the ability to build a trusting relationship.
I find counseling very satisfying as it encourages me to be creative and to use myself as a person. But I must admit that at times it can be stressful and demanding.
