Workshops for Professionals
The racial and ethnic disparity between therapists and their patients often makes it difficult for minorities to find a therapist who understands specific issues related to their experience.
The motivating influence behind multicultural counseling is that people from minority groups view the world through different lenses and that counselors, psychologists, and therapists of any race need to be sensitive to their unique difficulties and experiences.
Multicultural therapy focuses on looking at issues within a cultural context. This type of therapy acknowledges the differences among individuals. Multicultural therapists help you recognize how family and cultural factors influence your perception of yourself and the world around you.

Becoming a therapist or counselor who is skilled at multicultural counseling is an ongoing process, this workshop is all about setting the frameworks and strategies that will help those in therapeutic settings to better connect with their clients and be more sensitive to issues related to experiences of culture and race.
